This statement covers the Setapp edition of the Clamshell application, provided by Clamshell Korlátolt Felelõsségű Társaság (Clamshell Kft.), registered seat 1021 Budapest, Völgy utca 27/B B. ép. I. em. 4. ajtó, Hungary. Contact hello@clamshell.dev.
What the app sends us
Clamshell has no first-party analytics, tracking, accounts, or servers of its own in this edition. The app does not transmit personal data directly to us; Setapp's required processing is described below. Your settings stay in your Mac's user defaults. A small diagnostic log (arming events, error breadcrumbs; no personal content) is kept locally on your Mac. It leaves your Mac only if you choose "Copy diagnostics for support" and send it to us yourself, in which case it also includes basic device and version information (your Mac model, macOS version, and the app version) to help us diagnose the problem.
The Setapp framework
This edition includes the Setapp framework from MacPaw Way Ltd, which verifies your Setapp subscription and reports anonymous app usage events (such as that the app was used this month) to Setapp. That processing is required for Setapp to operate and to pay developers, and is governed by Setapp's own privacy notice at setapp.com/privacy-notice. We do not receive personal data from it; we receive aggregate usage and payout reporting.
Support email
If you email hello@clamshell.dev, we receive your email address and what you send. We use it only to answer you and to keep a record of the support matter. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing support (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); you may object at any time. We keep it for the duration of the support matter and a short period afterward, then delete it, and we share it with no one.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability for any personal data we hold (in practice: support emails) - the rights under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR. Write to hello@clamshell.dev. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; ours is the Hungarian NAIH (naih.hu).
Changes
If this statement changes, the updated version ships with the next app update and is always available from Settings, About.
